/ Savour Elgin 2023 & 2024 culinary guides

Elgin county has all of the attractions and amenities to make it a hotspot for countryside tourism - especially when it comes to food. The aim of this project was to develop an identity for Elgin’s culinary tourism guide as well as re-designing the publication to be more organized and eye catching. We blended an editorial style with rustic flair to highlight the best of what Elgin has to offer.

planning a culinary trip

We strove to highlight local ‘staycation’ destinations, using real, on location photography to let the uniqueness of each experience shine. By organizing the book into sections based on the type of experience we were able to create a guide that is easy to navigate for the consumer. Sample sections include; local markets, sugar shacks, and sea food restaurants.

For each destination we developed a unique QR code directing the reader to the experience’s website to create a more seamless planning experience.

the name

For the name of the publication we wanted to get away from something wordy and overly descriptive to create a snappy, attention grabbing title. ‘Taste’ allowed for the double meaning of an experience having taste, as in being of quality, as well as a person experiencing the literal culinary tastes of Elgin county.

beyond the book

To accompany the publication, we created social media content divided seasonally to promote experiences at different times of the year. We also created a physical poster to be given to businesses featured in the publication to create more buzz and cross pollination through the local community.
