sonder
/ proactive mental wellness magazine
The idea behind Sonder is to create a proactive mental wellness publication that would promote ways to be mentally healthy while spreading awareness about mental health issues. It aims to fill a hole in the market by providing a well crafted, eye catching publication that is both informative & supportive, loosening the stigma on mental health and providing preventative mental health strategies to it’s readers. It is also meant to foster a discussion and a community for those facing mental health challenges. It uses a relaxed and supportive atmosphere to provide the reader with a calming and relaxing experience from beginning to end.
As a champion of mental wellbeing, Sonder has three main goals, to be informative, proactive and supportive.
Mental health
Mental health an extremely important component to living a well balanced and healthy life. Despite this it is often neglected, from lack of understanding and stigma.
According to the Canadian Mental Health Association 20% of Canadians will suffer from a mental illness at one point in their lifetime. Almost one half, 49% of people who feel that they have suffered from issues like depression and anxiety have never sought help. Sonder hopes to contribute to the growing movement to end the stigma by promoting open and honest conversation around mental wellbeing.

n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own...an epic story that continues invisibly around you...with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background….
